Why 8 Days in the Hospital Wasn’t Terrible

It was 9 weeks of an autoimmune flare that sparked me to take an uber to the ER.

I was admitted after waiting many hours in extreme pain. I was speaking in tongues while waiting to be seen and put out of my misery. The pain and anguish covered my body from head to toe, inflammation and dehydration debilitating me to sweat and tears.

This was the first time I visited a hospital as a Christian. I brought a 3-day packed bag, because I knew I wasn’t going home, and needed to be restored. I brought my Bible and read it in the ER. A few people came up to me to praise me for reading it, and gave me their phone numbers. I thought, “Well this is nice.”

As I was in the ER section, I met two more fellow Christians, and we connected and became friends. One of them is a transporter and now we speak daily about God and work on our missions together.

As the days went on, every single day, I met another fellow believer in Jesus Christ: the people who took my blood each day, the nurses, the nurses aides, the cleaning crew, and more. Each day God blessed me with love and light from His people.

One day I was praying in a lounge room in tongues. When I was finished a nurse came to me and spoke to me in Portuguese. I looked at her with question, and she asked me where I was from, “Brazil? Portugal? Spain?” I said, “Hi, I’m from California, and I’m not too sure what you said.” She told me I was speaking in Portuguese and Spanish through my tongues, and I had no idea. She translated it back to me and my eyes welled with tears.

I then felt a sense to prophecy to her, and asked her if she had a son. Now her eyes teared up, and said, “Only God could be speaking this, because we have just met.”

I could feel her worry about her child, he was going through something, and God let me know to tell her, everything was going to be okay. It had already been done, in His name. We hugged and cried, and I went back to my bed to rest, full of the Holy Spirit and Awe.

I then began to translate all of my tongues using the Translate App, and began seeing that I really was speaking French, Portuguese, Latin, and Spanish. God works miracles, and He spoke through me, to me, with loving, affirmative messages. “I am with you. I am your best friend. I love you, my daughter, my love. Rest, sit, wait, I am here with you.” It’s amazing, and now we speak everyday through this language.

Each day, the blood tests came back the same. There was no improvement for 7 days and the doctors could not find a cause or trigger. Each day I walked around the floor, singing and praising the Lord, being in the presence of the Holy Spirit, and spreading smiles to the patients and nurses. I spoke to Chaplains, got advice about my journey, and poured my heart out. I knew I would heal because I’ve healed many times before.

Did you know, most people staying in the hospital are quite crabby? God let me know I was a ball of sunshine there to walk around and lighten the moods that week. I was put there on assignment, and He knew I could handle the pain, the IV’s, the testing, and the answers.

On day 8, the numbers changed by about 30% from the first day, showing a slight decrease in inflammation, and the doctor allowed me to go home to heal.

These 8 days were drastically different from the 9 days I spent at the hospital earlier this year, without knowing Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. This time was a time for rest, and time to get closer to God, and to be fully blessed with the speaking of tongues. This time was a time to let me know, let me grow, and let me heal on His time, on His will.

I’m home now and healing day by day. I’ve learned I physically and mentally cannot do a normal job – it always ends up with me sick in the hospital.

I’m going into 100% Full Time Ministry and Teaching of God’s Word. It is my purpose to read, write, learn and teach. It is my duty to spread the Gospel.

Jesus is coming, God Loves Us, and the world needs more Love. Stay tuned for more blogs!

Childhood Education: The Next Billion Dollar Industry

This article is an emotional response to Dave Holt’s “How to Fix the US Public School System.”

Education has always been a passion of mine since the school was a safe haven from my hectic home life. Before I was 5, my mom had an emotional PTSD breakdown, and before I was 10 my dad was addicted to cocaine, and the entire time they were both full-blown alcoholics running a household of 4 kids on less than 40grand/year.  I had 3 older siblings who didn’t care for my rainbow energy, finding me as the annoying little sister.

My home was a hell unless I was locked in my room, lost in a book. When I was little The Berenstain Bears, How to Give a Mouse a Cookie, and Goosebumps were my best friends. I loved walking to the library and checking out the max number of books to haul home.

I grew up an hour north of Los Angeles California and went to public school until eighth grade. After grade 8, I went to a public charter school once a week to take a test for the next 2.5 years to graduate High School. Once I was 17, I began community college aching for more knowledge and a promise to get out of this wretched small desert town. I graduated from community college with a Regent’s Honor’s Award and went to UC Irvine on a full scholarship. I did it, I got out of that small town and had my life paid for because of my dedication to knowledge. I completed my Bachelor’s degree with Honors and then decided to stop my education because I didn’t want to begin paying for it and going into debt without a promise of a job. I became a personal trainer and found success telling others how to live a healthier lifestyle.

After all of that education, I ended up using my $500 certificate from NASM to make the most money I ever have in my life as a personal trainer in Washington, DC. It taught me that climbing a ladder was not the way to wealth and happiness. Grinding could get you money, but you only have so many hours in a day. The goal is to get your money working for you in such that you’re an owner instead of an operator. My goal was to become a gym owner but a fall down a flight of stairs reset my path. (Read my other blogs for more on that.)  Back to education…

Mr. Futurist pushes creativity, freedom of expression, and correct timing of subjects during development. I especially appreciate this sentiment by David, “I also believe the study of philosophy and stretching the mind with some amazing ideas should be part of a 7th and 8th-grade educational curriculum,” because ages 12-14 were the most emotional, hormonal years of my life and I would have appreciated Plato, Nietzsche, and Kant.

I agree with the views of Rudolph Steiner’s Anthroposophic medicine.  Wikipedia calls him and his ideas “quackery,” but clearly needs an edit. Here is the scientific article that came out proving one of Steiners theories:

Abstract

In 1932, Bremer of Harvard filmed the blood in the very early embryo circulating in self-propelled mode in spiralling streams before the heart was functioning. Amazingly, he was so impressed with the spiralling nature of the blood flow pattern that he failed to realize that the phenomena before him had demolished the pressure propulsion principle. Earlier in 1920, Steiner, of the Goetheanum in Switzerland had pointed out in lectures to medical doctors that the heart was not a pump forcing inert blood to move with pressure but that the blood was propelled with its own biological momentum, as can be seen in the embryo, and boosts itself with “induced” momenta from the heart.  He also stated that the pressure does not cause the blood to circulate but is caused by interrupting the circulation. Experimental corroboration of Steiner’s concepts in the embryo and adult is herein presented. – “THE HEART IS NOT A PUMP: A REFUTATION OF THE PRESSURE PROPULSION PREMISE OF HEART FUNCTION by Dr. Ralph Marinelli, et al.”

The problem with US education is that it trains our minds to be employees, and employees are in the rat race that can never be won. They are training us to become depressed, hopeless individuals, listen to authority, and jump when told to do so. Are we lab rats in a grand experiment and accepting the role, or are we conscious beings looking up at our system and asking, “Why are we living this way?”

2018 has brought Donald Trump, Global Environmental Destruction, and the high likelihood of a nuclear war to destroy Earth. These are all reasons to start rethinking education. Our kids are the future after all, right?

solar-energy-solar-energy-for-kids3

Do you want your child to survive in this hostile world, or do you want your child to be a big part of changing it for the better? It is only a matter of time before the old white dudes controlling this all die out. I’m not planning on having children, so I’m here to support all of the parents who need it.

I’m currently teaching English 8-12 hours a day online to kids in China, on Beijing Time. I make an average of $17/hour. The real money is not in teaching, but owning the business.

They are learning a new language and culture during their Summer break. I don’t know one American kid who is doing anything like this VIPKID program.

I’m seeking app developers and education specialists, teachers and moms, and fellow futurists to create an application that can be spread worldwide to give enlightening, positive education to all children. I’m seeking investors who believe in education through the web, employed on a mass scale, with instant access to classes and a rainbow of teachers.

The app will transcend languages, cultures, and ideas, sharing teacher lessons from all over the world. I’ve always wanted to own a school so that I could give an amazing curriculum. That school will be in the cloud.

If you want to collaborate on this billion dollar education idea, message me today on here or LinkedIn.

Cindy Mi is a hero of mine and I look forward to working in education technology with all of you.

Let’s change the world together, one heart at a time.

Health is a Journey, Not a Destination

Making A Lifestyle You think it’s a diet. You think it’s a cleanse. You think it’s not eating carbs. You think wrong. Health is a lifestyle. It’s a complete way of living. Health is from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed and the hours in between. It’s a 24/7 practice. It’s eating, drinking, breathing, and heart-beating. You can eat whatever you want, you can workout whenever you want, and you can socialize in any way. A healthy lifestyle means doing those things with health in mind.

I eat cookies, pizza, sushi, cake, brownies, and dark chocolate. I take days off from working out. I sit in my pajamas all day on sunday and watch tv. I eat chinese food once a week. Does this sound healthy? Not at all! Here is a health-ifying breakdown:

  • I eat organic cookies I either bake at home, or buy in small portions.
  • I eat organic vegan pizzas that are single-serving, or made from home on a pita.
  • I go to sushi once a month or less.
  • If I eat cake, it’s a mug cake that I make in the microwave. Again, single serving.
  • Same goes for brownies. (Why have a huge pan sitting around to devour?)
  • Dark chocolate is afforded to one small square a day, or in the form of Raw Cacao powder to make hot cocoa or chocolate milk.
  • Rest days are essential to rebuild and recover. Taking an extra one is always okay.
  • My chinese food is made from Gardein Mandarin Chick’n and Quinoa.
  • Sunday is a rest day, so I’m allowed to do what the hell I want!

Have Your Cake and Eat It Too You see? You can have all those things if you just healthify them! I have a major sweet tooth. I am a fat kid in a health nut’s body. I love my sweets, but I always keep health in mind when eating them. If I go overboard, I’ll be sure to make up for it in the gym. Aim for balance.

Your life is important. Your vitality, wellness, vigor, energy, and spirit is important. You deserve the best because you are the best.

I may indulge in all those things, but guess what? It’s OKAY. I’m healthy and you can be too.

Find time, at least an hour a day, to devote to moving. If you can’t get to a gym, do some body exercises during one of your TV shows. Squats, Push-ups, Dips, Mountain Climbers. Those four things will shape you up just fine. They will get your body, digestion, and metabolism moving more efficiently.

I know it’s hard to change your frame of mind. Change is a frightening thing. But if you don’t change how you look at losing weight and gaining health today, then you won’t ever get there. You will continue the same behavioral patterns and end up where you started, or worse, heavier and sicker.

If you need any help, just ask. My mission is to fight obesity and that starts with one person at at time.

If being overweight isn’t your healthy lifestyle issue, what is? Tell me below and inspire the next blog. Thanks for reading.

Best Health,

Nicole

3-Ingredient Protein Hot Cocoa

Performance Cocoa
Performance Cocoa

Tomorrow: Frozen Hot Chocolate

First of all I want to say, whenever I see a recipe that has less than 5 ingredients, I click on it. No matter what they are, I’m like, “Only 3!?! I can do that!” I’m no chef by any standard. I hardly measure anything  and I truly suck at baking 95% of the time. Tonight was a lucky one when I made this concoction.

I was getting bored with mixing my protein powder with cold water and drinking it as if it couldn’t taste good. I knew it tasted well, but underestimated its ability to become a star. Tonight, it became a shining one.

I saw a post about hot cocoa with soy whip by Kathy Patalsky  on twitter and thought, “Mmm that sounds yummy.” And since I’m not cool and dandy with a stock of soy whip or one of these, I figured I would turn my protein powder into a hot cocoa. I have raw cacao powder next to all my Vega and smoothie stuff so my hot cocoa was just asking to be made. Here is the simple 3 minute post-workout delicious drink you will never turn down.

Recipe

1 Big mug of Unsweetened Almond Milk, Vanilla (12 oz)
1 Scoop Vega Performance Protein, Vanilla
2 tsp Raw Cacao Powder
Stevia, to taste (a good sprinkle)

Place all ingredients in a mug and stir. Microwave for 2 minutes. Stir again. Enjoy!

With 28 grams of branched-chain amino acid protein, only 9 complex carbs, and a hot chocolate delicious taste to warm you up, this cocoa really can’t be beat. Why have it any other way?

Frozen Hot Chocolate: Freeze the prepared drink in an ice cube tray, throw it in the blender with a 1/2 frozen banana. Add extra almond milk (about 1-2 cups) to get the frozen ice and banana to move! Use your Vitamix or high powered blender and stirring tool.

This frozen hot chocolate seriously tastes and looks  like chocolate ice cream! But so healthy. (If you don’t have a Vitamix, it will be more of an Icy milk.)

How To Have A Good-Health Day

tumblr_mbstdkcSYB1ruy7xuo1_400

Start with alkaline.

First things first. Drink some water. Not just plain water, but a water that will alkalize your body, readying it for nutrients. Add the juice of half a lemon to a glass of water, warmed if possible. Add an herbal tea bag or some dried Goji berries to go the extra flavor mile.
Why? Alkalinity is related to Ph balance. Your digestive system is the main center of your immune system. When your body is alkaline, bacteria, viruses, indigestion, and pain have a hard time surviving. The more alkaline you are, the healthier you are. Lemon may seem acidic, but it actually turns alkaline in your body. Anything that is fresh and plant-based is alkalizing to your body. Processed foods, junk foods, and sugar are acidic. Avoid at all costs!

Hit the road with protein.

The best way to get your hunger under control is to start the day with some plant-based protein. Protein takes longer to digest, and increases your satiety (fullness factor). I suggest a VegaOne shake or smoothie. VegaOne has 50% of your vitamins and minerals, 15g of protein, 6grams of fiber, 1.5 grams of Omega 3’s, Antioxidants, Probiotics, and greens. Plus, it has the super foods chlorella and maca! You won’t only feel full until lunch, but energized and happy. Blend half a frozen banana, one scoop VegaOne, and 12oz unsweetened almond milk or water. If you’re in a rush, you can simply mix a scoop of VegaOne and 8oz water in a to-go BlenderBottle. (Do this at night for a grab-n-go.) The berry flavor of VegaOne is best mixed with water -and nothing else. Vanilla Chai and Chocolate are great with water, or the banana and non-dairy milk.

Why? A mid-morning munchie attack before lunch time can sabotage your calorie count and weight loss efforts. It can also mean snacking on vending machine junk or the cake in the back office. Sound familiar? Candy-dish diving is just going to make you hungrier and grumpier. Be sure to get a smoothie.
Why plant-based? Whey protein digests very quickly and can bloat you. Many people have dairy-sensitivities, which is where whey comes from.  VegaOne doesn’t only provide you with protein and satiety- you get most of the greens, vitamins, probiotics, and minerals you need for the rest of the day. Now that’s a good start!

Pack security

You may have forgot to pack a lunch. You may be invited to go out to a staff lunch. And you will be tempted with that staff pizza party. If you want to be free from guilt, and health-insured, pack some security. I suggest a home-made trail mix, piece of fruit+raw almonds, or non-dairy greek yogurt. Bananas, oranges, and apples are year round fruits that are very purse-friendly. Raw almonds are full of fiber and protein; only a handful will sustain your hunger until you get home. When fruit and almonds are paired together, you will get a healthy dose of carbs, good fats, and protein.  Non-dairy greek yogurt, made from coconut milk (Delicious!) is also full of protein and fibers. Plus, it tastes sinful but is actually very good for you.

That Hole You’re In? It Ain’t All That Mighty!

Hell Holes. Sept. 040

Dear Reader,

Don’t let your current struggle define who you are. Don’t let it define your entire life. Are you overweight? Depressed? Jobless? Or just can’t find your place yet in this world? Don’t worry, it’s not so hard to climb out of that hole.

You are a wonderful person. You work hard. You mean well. And you speak your mind. You’re not afraid to be you. So whatever has got you down, know that it’s only for a limited time.

It’s not permanent.

We can always change our circumstances.

All it takes is a little dedication and work to get out of this hole. Learn what it takes, whether it be a lifestyle change, a new way of eating, a new way of connecting to others, a novel approach to your dream career, or even starting a new hobby. Create something with your hands. Go for a walk. Gaze at the stars. Write a poem.

Don’t simply sit around and let this hole be a sinking sand. You are better than this hole. You are the shovel. You are the ladder that drops down into it. You are the rungs that support your weight. You are the ground in which the hole is dug. I am the hand reaching down to help you out. Grab hold. Now show that hole who’s boss and get out of it, fill it with cement, and never go back.

Love,

Nicole
